Award Winning Casino Float Places First in Parade
Buffington Harbor, Ind., 8/20/01 - Majestic Star Casino's award winning float was the recipient of a first place trophy for the best commercial float in the Puerto Rican Day Parade. The cultural festivities held in East Chicago provided music and dancing for a community with pride.
The Puerto Rican Day Parade & Cultural Organization of Northwest Indiana presented Majestic with a trophy during their monthly meeting.
"The staff of Majestic Star was delighted to participate in the parade," said Chareice White, community relations manager. "This was the first time our float was featured in the parade and as always, it's a wonderful way of helping to make a difference in the community."
Majestic's float beat out Harrah's Casino and boxer Angel Manfredy's float.
