Buffington Harbor Broke Ground for Parking Garage
Buffington Harbor, Ind., 8/20/01 - Majestic Star Casino and Trump Casino Hotel recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on a new four-story, 2000-space covered parking garage.
Mr. Don Barden, owner of Majestic Star Casino and Mr. Donald J. Trump, owner and Chief Executive Officer of Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts attended the ceremony.
More than 200 hundred guests were in attendance; including, Mayor Scott L. King, Senator Earline Rodgers, Deputy Mayor Suzette Raggs, State Representative Vernon Smith and Earl Harris, members of the Gary Common Council - Mary Brown, Robert White, Chuck Hughes, Marilyn Krusas, City Judge Deidre Monroe, Gwen Adams (City of Gary), Mary Cossey (The Gary Accord), Shirley Caylor (Crisis Center), Bea Strong (NWI Sickle Cell Foundation), Denise Williams (Gary/Chicago Airport), Ross Amundson (Indiana American Water Company), Jeff Williams (Gary Chamber of Commerce), Geraldine Tousant (City of Gary), along with several other local dignitaries, politicians, community leaders and casino management from both properties.
