Majestic Star General Manager has Head Shaved in Casino

Gary, Ind., December 30, 2003 – Majestic Star Casino is making a difference in many areas of the community this holiday season. The merriment began with kind-hearted team members donating to United Way throughout the year.

Majestic Star Casino Team members took the challenge. Troy Keeping, Vice President and General Manager proposed a challenge that team members couldn’t resist: "Raise over $75,000 for United Way and I will have my head shaved in the casino on a busy Saturday night by a team member." Team members responded enthusiastically to the challenge and contributed to United Way in the form of payroll deductions including a company match. During a Star Power Award Celebration, the general manager praised team members for their charitable spirits, awarded raffle prizes and held a drawing to determine who would shave his head; Felix Maranon from the table games department was chosen. In addition, a second challenge was made to exceed $100,000. As a result, management will wear uniforms and serve cocktails. These public events will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2004, 7:00 p.m., 2nd floor on the casino stage.
