Majestic Star Casino & Meijer Sponsor Second Annual Holiday Party
December 28, 2001 - Buffington Harbor, Ind. - Majestic and Meijer recently hosted their second annual Holiday Party for Little Stars. The John Will Anderson Boys & Girls Club recently was transformed into a North Pole Central for 100 kids.
The Boys & Girls Club staff selected children from various locations in Indiana to be the recipients of gifts purchased and presented on behalf of Majestic Star and Meijer team. This year the children played carnival games, won prizes, dined on food donated by Buffington Harbor and Miller Pizza, played the Wheel of Wisdom (an educational game show similar to the Wheel of Fortune). Each child took photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus as they received their gifts during the event.
"Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the holiday party," said Eddie Trail, chief executive officer of the Northwest Indiana Boys & Girls Club. "The children said they wished they had more programs and activities where adults were dressed appropriately with them on that level. They loved the decorations, costumes, the party atmosphere, of course the tons of food. Most of all the kids enjoyed the presents and didn't expect to receive everything they asked for."
"As Majestic and Meijer continue our partnership each year, we know that it's a rewarding experience for the kids during the holiday season, " said Chareice White, community relations manager for Majestic. "To see their expressions on their faces while opening their gifts, truly makes a difference in their little lives."
Majestic remains committed to giving back in the community. One Buffington Harbor Drive, Gary, IN 46406 majesticstar.com
