Fitzgeralds Las Vegas to host First Anniversary Celebration
Former Motown Recording Legends & Festivities Honor February Holiday

January 10, 2003 Las Vegas, Nev.

Don H. Barden, the first African American to wholly own a national casino company, will host a week long celebration marking Fitzgeralds Casinos' first year under his ownership. The celebration will take place at his Fitzgeralds Casino Hotel in Las Vegas.

Barden, who owns Majestic Star Casino, LLC and its wholly owned subsidiary Majestic Investor Holdings, LLC, acquired three Fitzgeralds casinos just over a year ago. Fitzgeralds Casinos are located in Tunica, Miss., Black Hawk, Colo., and Las Vegas, Nev. Majestic Star and its affiliates now officially operate four casinos including its first casino, the Majestic Star Casino in Gary.

In addition to the anniversary celebration, Fitzgeralds will honor Black History Month and celebrate Valentine's Day as well. The week's highlights include: An exhibit by the National Civil Rights Museum of Memphis; a Tuskegee Airmen display; an exhibit by the Charles A. Wright Museum of Detroit; a movie screening hosted by Crown Theatres located in the nearby Neonopolis Mall; an education celebration for Las Vegas students at Crown Theatre as well as multicultural entertainment on the Fremont Street stage.

On Friday, Feb. 14, Fitzgeralds will host an exclusive private Valentine's Day concert featuring former Motown recording legends Martha Reeves, The Contours and The Dramatics. The following night, Feb. 15, the casino will host an unforgettable charitable concert extravaganza including performances by Martha Reeves, The Contours and The Drifters. The evening will also feature award presentations to deserving celebrity recipients as well as donations to a national and local charity.

Several major celebrities are expected to attend the festivities and Fitzgeralds expects the celebration to generate local, regional and national attention. The guest list includes celebrities, athletes, actors and actresses, VIP gamers, political and business leaders, educators and media representatives.

The public may also attend (space is limited). Fitzgeralds is offering an affordable $199 grand celebration package for those who weren't invited but wish to attend. The package includes two night's hotel accommodations, two tickets to one of the concert events, special meal offers and access to most of the festivities.
